FAO programmes and projects in Pakistan are funded partly through the Organization's own regular programme but mostly by a number of donors, including bilateral and multilateral aid agencies and foreign governments. Between 1994 and 2004, FAO implemented 105 projects worth more than US$ 69.7 million in Pakistan and participated in 28 regional projects worth nearly US$ 415 million. Development Partnership

Recently, FAO has been a development partner of international aid agencies and governments, such as the Asian Development Bank (ADB); European Community (Eq; International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD); The Government of Italy; Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA); The World Bank; United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) and the United States Aid for International Development (USAID).The total funding for different types of programmesand projects implemented by FAO, as June2005, is summarized in the following table.
Under the FAO’s global food security programme, a trilateral technical cooperation agreement between FAO, Pakistan and Government of Swaziland has been singed under the TCDC and South-South Cooperation. In addition, agriculture rehabilitation activities in the cyclone affected areas in Sind and the drought-affected areas in Baluchistan are being implemented.
