Education for Youth and Adolescents – Federal (in collaboration with the Ministry of Women Development, Social Welfare and Special Education)

Proposed Duration: 1999 – 2003

Objectives:

• To build the capacity of 4,000 male and 4,000 female adolescents to participate in their development and contribute to social development in 75 communities in the Islamabad Capital territory.

Activities:

• Peer-group research;

• Training, counseling and advisory services for life skills/ self-realization activities and formation of youth groups;

• Review of youth policy;

• National seminar on adolescence and youth;

• Orientation/ policy dialogue with provincial government.

Remarks:

From the initial research activities, the project constantly challenges and works on gender differences (of opportunities, resources, attitudes etc.) between male and female adolescents
