Empowerment of Girls and Women – Girl Child Shield Programme (in collaboration with Pakistan Girl Guides’ Association)

Proposed Duration: February 1999 – December 2001

Objectives:

• To train 30,000 additional girl guides in effective communication, team building, importance of health, nutrition and hygiene education (facts of life), girl-child issues (discrimination in the areas of education, health and nutrition) and overall child rights.

Activities:

• Training of guides (through inter-company camps etc.) for badges in the six areas mentioned above;

• National training of master trainers and guides;

• Advanced training to senior guides and guides;

• Experience-exchange visits.
