The Mahbub ul Haq Human Development Centre is a leading South Asian policy research institute based in Islamabad, committed to organising professional research, policy studies, and seminars in the area of human development. The Founder of the Centre is the late Dr Mahbub ul Haq, former Finance and Planning Minister of Pakistan, and founder and chief architect of UNDPs annual Human Development Reports. The President of the Centre is Mrs. Khadija Haq, who is also the Chairperson, North-South Roundtable.
MHHDCs Economics Team has a worldwide reputation for innovative, analytically rigorous, policy-oriented, and hard-hitting research on economic and social issues in South Asia.
The Centres annual Reports on Human Development in South Asia have been widely acclaimed by governments, civil society, and the media (including The Financial Times, Newsweek magazine, Time magazine, CNN, and BBC). The Centre is also the Secretariat for the South Asia Commission on the Asian Challenge, which consists of twenty leading scholars and policymakers from the South Asia region, who are to prepare a report on the South Asian Challenge in the 21st century. In addition, the Centre is actively involved in monitoring poverty trends in Pakistan, as part of the UNDPs South Asia Poverty Monitor Project.

Kindly note that the candidates must:
Have a minimum qualification of a Master's degree in economics, or related social sciences from a university of international repute or a PhD degree in economics. Only the brightest candidates will be considered. Candidates with an excellent Bachelor's degree from a reputed institution will also be considered.
Have a firm commitment to work at the Centre for at least 2-3 years.
Be below the age of 25 (relaxable for applicants with doctoral or post-doctoral qualifications).
