AGHS is a legal aid cell working for legal literacy, awareness, education, protection from exploitation research, counseling and assistance. This pamphlet aims at acquainting victims of violence with the law and its machinery. It provides information on when a person can be arrested, detained and how to use bail. It also answers questions on what can be done if a woman is sexually violated and the punishment for sexual assault. With the help of case studies it points out how the predicament of women has increased since the change in laws in 1980. It further highlights other aspects of law, focusing on the issue of domestic violence particularly stove burning.
