'Harassment of Women in the Work Place', a Summary Report 2000,

WWSC is a project of LHRLA (a Karachi based NGO), and a need to highlight this issue emerged during a workshop, on the basis of which research was carried out. After explaining the gender-based discrimination, the report explains the different types of harassment of women, the attitudes of society and the implications therein within the context of Pakistani society. Further it retraces the steps of various policy approaches towards women in development and highlights the holistic approach of mainstreaming women in development. It emphasizes the need for support from the government of Pakistan and recommends various strategies. This report also brings to light the already existing national and international protective laws against harassment. The findings of harassment are substantiated by a cross sectional survey of 200 women.
