UNAIDS also works with in-country donors to mobilise resources for HIV response.

Leadership and advocacy: UNAIDS is the main advocate in the UN for national AIDS response. UNAIDS focuses on targeted advocacy at policy and decision-making levels, with media and religious leaders, and increasing overall awareness on HIV and AIDS among the general population. UNAIDS has a mandate to strengthen the political commitment for an effective AIDS response in the country.

UNAIDS also serves as Chair of the CCM Oversight Committee.
