    A statement by Kemal Derviş on International Day of the World’s Indigenous Peoples

    This International Day of the World’s Indigenous Peoples provides an excellent opportunity to join with others in honouring indigenous peoples and to recognize their efforts to maintain their distinctive cultures, socio-political systems and identities.  It also provides an opportunity for UNDP to restate its commitment to support those efforts within the context of the human development agenda, with its focus on allowing people to develop their full potential and lead productive, creative lives in dignity and in accordance with their needs and interests.

    Workshop on Results Based Management and revised Project Cycles Operations Manual for Project Staff
    UNDP organized a one-day training workshop on Results Based Management (RBM) for the Project Directors (PDs) and Project Managers (PMs) on 14 April 2008 and a one day session on the revised PCOM held on 15 April 2008 at the Margalla Hotel, Islamabad. The objective of RBM training was to impart skills and knowledge to the participants regarding new management tools and approaches as prescribed by Results Based Management Guide (RMG) in order to maximize efficiency and effectiveness of UNDP development assistance. The second day focused on deliberations around key changes introduced in the revised Project Cycle Operations Manual (PCOM) as per new corporate guidelines.
