Early Recovery Framework

The National Disaster Management Authority requested UN agencies to support and assist in drafting the Early Recovery Framework as guidelines for the medium term response to the flood emergency. The framework looks into eight sectors: Housing; Livelihoods and Productive Infrastructure (covering Agriculture, Livestock, Fisheries and Enterprises); Health (covering Curative and Preventive health, Nutrition and Water & Sanitation); Education (covering the education system as a whole); Environment; Governance; and Disaster Risk Reduction. UNESCO has been proactive in the development of the guiding principles for the education system while advocating for a holistic response.
