Entrance Exam for Afghan universities

KABUL, 22 Jan (UNHCR) - The first round of Afghanistan's university entrance exam will take place in Kabul on Monday, 26 January 2004 and a date will then be set for a second round. The exact date for the second round will be announced after 26 January. Those returning refugees who want to participate in the second round of the entrance exam must register in Afghanistan by 2 February 2004. Students must have their graduation certificates stamped by the Afghan consulate or embassy in the country of asylum and submit their applications (along with one photo) for registration to the Directory of Student Affairs in the Ministry of Higher Education. Applicants will be issued a university admission card. The exam will take place on the same date in Kabul, Balkh, Herat, Kandahar and Nangarhar provinces. The Ministry of Higher Education said 40,000 graduates have been registered countrywide to take the university entrance exam.
