29 November 2006-The UN Information Centre extended support to an international session of Model United Nations that was held at the Lahore University Management Sciences (LUMS).
The sessions started on 29 November 2006 in an opening ceremony with the participation of over 900 students. Delegated came from universities and colleges from all over Pakistan, as well as from Austria, Croatia, India, Germany and Portugal. The UNIC Director addressed the large gathering of participants in the inaugural session on the afternoon of 29 November.
The four-day session that started on 30 November split into 14 different committees to deal with various issues the UN system of organisations are working on. The LUMS Model UN also held special sessions on the uni-polar world, UN reform and the conflict of civilizations.
