UN Day Recognition

For the past few years, the United Nations System in Pakistan has been collectively
honouring on UN Day one Pakistani institution for its achievements in the area
of community development. However, this year, it was decided to honour two NGOs
in view of their respective work in the social sector. The recipients of awards
were: the Society for the Protection of the
Rights of the Child (SPARC) and AMAL Human Development Network. The UN Resident
Coordinator in Pakistan, Mr. Onder Yucer, presented the Recognition Award shields
to the representatives of the two NGOs at a simple ceremony held at UNIC.
