The Citizens Foundation (TCF) is a professionally managed, non-profit, non-political organization that is dedicated to the promotion of quality education, on a mass scale in rural and lower income urban areas of Pakistan.
Based in Karachi, it is led by Mr. Sabeeh Qamar uz Zaman, who retired from the Army with the rank of Lieutenant General, before becoming Chief Executive of TCF. The Citizens Foundation does not seek funds from UN Agencies and international donors, and has already managed to build sixty schools in Karachi, Kasur, Lahore and Rawalpindi in the four years of its existence. Over a ten year span, it plans to build 1,000 schools providing formal education for boys and girls in the most underprivileged neighbourhoods.
