Islamabad - 10 March 2004
The United Nations System in Pakistan organised a seminar on International Women's Day on 10 March 2004 in collaboration with the Federal Ministry of Women Development, Social Welfare and Special Education. The First Lady of Pakistan, Mrs Sehba Musharraf, was the chief guest, and the Federal Ministers for Education and Health addressed the audience of over 200 people. The National Programme Manager of the National AIDS Control Programme made a presentation on the situation of HIV/AIDS in the country.
The seminar took place at the Serena Hotel in Islamabad. The audience included ambassadors, Parliamentarians, families of the chiefs of staff of the Presidency, NGOs, academicians, editors of national dailies, civic leaders and the heads of nine UN agencies.
