The United Nations System in Pakistan organised jointly with the Department of Mass Communication of the University of the Punjab, a panel discussion to commemorate World Press Freedom Day.
Panelists were: Mr. Jalil Hassan Akhtar Raja, General Secretary, Punjab Union of Journalists; Mrs. Yasmeen Rehman, Member of the National Assembly of Pakistan; Dr. Sajjad Naseer, Associate Professor, Department of Political Sciences, University of the Punjab; Mr. Imtiaz Alam, Editor, Current Affairs, 'The News'; Mr. Mujeeb-ur-Rehman Shami, Editor, Daily Pakistan/President of the Council of Pakistan Newspaper Editors; Mr. Arif Nizami, Editor, The Nation/President, All Pakistan Newspapers Society; and Mr. Taimur Azmat Usman, Secretary Information, Government of the Punjab. Mr. Mowahid Hussain Shah, Specail Advisor to the Chief Minister of Punjab was the chief guest.
